Upcoming event 23/03/17: Parents as partners in research

We’re pleased to announce Prof Lucy Raymond will be presenting at the Cambridge Science Festival.  Her talk ‘Parents as partners in research’ will be on Thursday 23rd March from 18.00-19.30 in the Mill Lane Lecture Rooms, 8 Mill Lane, CB2 1RW.

The talk will discuss the new research method used in the IMAGINE ID study through online assessments using parent’s expertise in their children’s condition and behaviour. IMAGINE ID is designed to assess how genetic causes of intellectual disability affect the long term mental health of 5,000 children and young adults. So far we have over 1,200 participants both nationally and internationally.

Lucy will also be discussing the launch of a new children’s book about rare disease which she has produced in collaboration with Marta Altes, a children’s book illustrator. This is a children’s story where the issues of taking part in research are presented and discussed in an child-friendly way.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Places are free and must be pre-booked via Eventbrite here
