We were delighted to hear so many IMAGINE ID families were taking part in activities on 28th February 2017 to mark the tenth annual Rare Disease day which this year had a theme of ‘Research’.
As well as lots of events taking place across the world, many of the activities were virtual- using social media to raise awareness about how rare diseases may be individually rare, but collectively common and the importance of continuing research into these conditions.
Many of the UK Genetics Centres had stalls at their hospitals to raise awareness about all the research they take part in. In the picture to the left is Research Genetic Practitioner, Miranda Squires and Clinical Genetics Research Coordinator, Thomas Inglehearn from Chapel Allerton Hospital in Leeds at their stall promoting IMAGINE ID.
We also made a fun colouring activity of Dina the Dinosaur, for children to complete and send back to us. Thank you to all those that took part in this, we will be uploading pictures soon. Download and print your own Dina here, we look forward to receiving some more!
