Pioneering Research in Genetic Neurodevelopment

The Imagine ID study is at the forefront of understanding how genetic variations can impact the development and behaviour of children with intellectual disabilities and mental health challenges. Operating across the UK and internationally, our research not only seeks answers to complex genetic questions but also aims to provide practical support to families affected by these conditions.

Phase 1: Laying the Foundations

In our initial phase, Imagine ID successfully enrolled over 3,400 participants, gathering crucial data to address the pressing questions posed by parents regarding genetic conditions. This foundational stage was instrumental in developing our methodologies and understanding the vast landscape of genetic influences on neurodevelopment.

Phase 2: Deepening Our Insights

Building on the success of our initial findings, Phase 2 of Imagine ID, or IMAGINE 2, continues to track the development of our participants over time. This phase is critical for creating detailed, personalised reports for families, which highlight developmental trends and provide insights into behavioural management and support.

Your Role: Participate and Empower

By participating in the Imagine ID study, families not only receive tailored support and detailed insights into their child’s strengths and challenges but also contribute significantly to the broader scientific understanding of rare genetic conditions. Eligibility extends to children and young people aged 4-26 who have been diagnosed with a genetic condition. Our ongoing recruitment welcomes new families to join this transformative research effort.
